West Lake (Xi Hu), CHINA

These are the words composed by the far-famed Song folk author Su Dongpo (960-1127). These poetic sentiments depict the charm of the lake which has perpetually been a stunning and romantic spot since history.
Measuring a pair of miles with 3.2 kilometers in length, 1.7 miles (2.8 kilometers) in dimension, and 7.5 feet (2.3 meters) in average depth, the lake has a total area of two.5 sq. miles (6.5 sq. kilometers). It is surrounded by mountains on 3 sides, the Yuehu Lake. In addition, there are 3 artificial  islands in the West Outer Lake therefore the Ruangong Islet; and two far-famed pagodas by the lake: the Leifeng temple to the south and the Baochu temple to the north.

Nowadays Of all the legends, the most touching one is that the romance between Bai Suzhen and Xu Changan. Bai Suzhen was a white snake spirit and Xu Changan was a mortal man. They fell in love with one another initially sight, and got married very shortly. But the evil monk solfa syllable Hai tried to separate the couple by imprisoning Xu Changan. Bai Suzhen fought against solfa syllable Hai. Years later the couple was rescued by Xiao Ch'ing dynasty, the sister of Baisuzhen. From then on, Bai Suzhen and Xu Changan lived along mirthfully. Because of the moving story, the lake becomes an ideal chemical analysis place for lovers.

As the No. 1 of 10 scenes of the West Lake, the Dawn on the Su Causeway in Spring is intoxicating and delighting. There are six bridges on the causeway, including the Crossing Rainbow Bridge, the Eastern lakeshore Bridge, the Suppressing Dike Bridge, the Viewing Hills Bridge, the Locking Waves Bridge, There is a willow or a Prunus persica every sure distance.
